Start the day with a coffee because let's be honest, I’m not going to function without it. Reading the news is also crucial; it’s important to be aware of what is going on in the world and how it might affect Olive Jar.
😊 9:00 AM – Morning Stand-Up:
Partake in the morning stand-up. I’m naturally inquisitive, and this feeds my need to understand the key goals for the day and if there are any blockers that require my immediate attention.
📊 9:15 AM – Analysing the Beans:
Dive into Excel to analyze the beans across the entire business, creating and maintaining financial models to know where we are heading. Especially crucial at month-end, where I count the beans to ensure they’re all there and that all parties get paid on time.
🍩 12:00 PM - Lunch Break:
Step away from the numbers to enjoy a well-deserved lunch. I usually walk my dog to get some fresh air and clear my head, ready for a fun-packed afternoon of whatever the latest challenge will be.
🪄 1:00 PM - Finance Wizardry:
Attend meetings with the other incredible Olive Jar teams, providing financial help where needed and being careful to minimize any financial jargon so the numbers feel less daunting.
🤔 3:00 PM - Brainstorming:
Attend and encourage out-of-the-box thinking during our cross-functional brainstorming sessions. As a team, we try to think of creative solutions to better what we do and build on the exceptional service that we offer our customers today.
💼 4:00 PM - Strategy:
Strategy update meeting with the Directors and Senior Leadership Team to track how we are progressing with our aggressive targets, highlighting any opportunities to improve performance or areas of concern. Providing support and guidance so we can meet our strategic goals together.
🏝️ 6:00 PM - Reflect and Relax:
Wind down from the day with a cup of herbal tea and some brain-teasing puzzles. Reflect on the day's financial triumphs, celebrating the wins, and prepare for another day of balancing budgets and continuous improvement!
