Spotlight on Success - Paediatric Early Warning System in Partnership with NHS England

Updated: Jul 19, 2024

We are proud to announce the success of a meaningful collaboration with NHS England, resulting in a new Paediatric Early Warning System (PEWS) now being rolled out across its services.

We began work on the new system last year, which helps medics escalate care and treatments for deteriorating child patients with the help of new charts which track scores for blood pressure, heart rates, and oxygen levels.

Parents and carers are at the heart of this new system, which gives them more control over the care their child receives if they think their children may be sicker than the charts suggest.

The delivery of this new system follows the recommendations that Martha's Rule be introduced across all hospitals in England, which gives the right to families for urgent second opinions if they are worried about a patient's condition.

We are honoured to have partnered on the delivery of this very important project.
